Country style sausage made in a small town with a big taste describes Burton Sausage to a tee. In 1974, Jerry Schultz opened a slaughter facility in Burton Texas. Using the knowledge he gained from his family, Jerry made sausage using the fresh meat from his operations. As more of the local ranchers, who brought their cattle for processing, heard about his ability to make great sausage, they too asked Jerry to make sausage for them. The word spread and soon Jerry was making sausage for more and more folks from the Burton area. In 1980, Jerry decided to "brand" his sausage. Using his hometown as a backdrop, the Burton Sausage Company was born.

Burton Sausage continued to grow in popularity around the area and in a short time Jerry was making more sausage than the original facility could handle. So in 2000, the decision was made to construct a new state of the art U.S.D.A. meat processing facility which has received a BRC and Steritech certification. In addition to these achievements the facility boasts its own quality control lab, in-house design services, and food designers capable of creating the best tasting private label sausage products around that can be customized to fit your specific needs.

Today Burton Sausage continues to grow at an incredible speed and produces private label sausage for some of the biggest retailers in the business. It has been such a blessing to reflect on our humble beginnings and see where we are today.
